- continued working on the gui, started on the 'hearts' system for the gui; eva created some preliminary graphics for it, i cut them up into images and imported them, and i test-coded them into the game for exploration mode (where they represent unfriended/friended creatures in the room) and dream mode (where they represent the number of lives you have). so it's good progress on the gui but this isn't a done set of tasks yet (will need to finalize the graphics, add some animation effects and/or particles, and so on)
