I'm ahead of schedule for once -- slightly. Probably won't last. Pictured is a function of the ship which causes anything it hits to become transparent and ghostly, and you can then go through it. It can only work on one thing at once. It can also work on enemies or floating flowers etc.

I got that radar idea from 7th Saga, for those of you who have played it. It's much smoother than in that game of course cause the SNES was a bit limited, but it will work much the same way.

The only problem is that the circle is not completely circular (if you zoom in you'll see what I mean) due to the strange way that Game Maker draws circles (they're really like 30-sided polygons or something). I probably should make it a sprite instead to fix that problem.

(21:08:05) Paul Eres: "Picture this: a modern soldier, a robot centipede, a ninja made of sand & glass, a spider-vampire hybrid, a ball-n-chain wielding samurai, a living black hole, an evil wizard, a super hero flower man, monster aliens, giant bugs, stampeding wildebeests, and zombies…all in the same game. If that doesn’t sound like the best game ever, then maybe you should just stop playing games right now."

(21:17:52) Paul Eres: "More about Ty:

"Ty is one of the main reasons I’m so confident in this project. The man is just brilliant, and one of the most intelligent people you will ever meet. He will graduate college with a 4.0 GPA, and will then work on his Masters degree in Biblical Studies. He won an award for best Greek student at his college, he’s in near perfect physical condition, he’s a black-belt in Jukado, he’s a part-time guitar instructor, and one of the best basketball players I personally know. He could also easily be a professional gamer if he pursued it. The point is that he’s good at a lot of things; anything he puts his mind to. And he’ ll be putting his mind into this game. I feel that we’ll be able to solve any design or management issues that will inevitably arise with him on the team. Trust me; you don’t want to pass up the opportunity to work with a mind like this."

(21:18:54) theambulants: holy crap
(21:19:25) theambulants: ahh, so the black belt in jukado still has a soft heart...biblical studies
(21:19:28) theambulants: truly a rounded man
(21:20:06) theambulants: i wonder which thing Ty thought up
(21:20:17) theambulants: was it the spider-vampire hybrid, OR a ball-n-chain wielding samurai

Did the final of the 10 functions today, 'the weapon'. It still doesn't have collision, and it looks better in motion than in a screenshot, but the idea is that you swing it around with the mouse. Most of the time you won't be using it on living things, because if you kill anything with it it's game over, but I like the idea of having a weapon that they can't use tempting the player.
