Because Playboy defies "Buddhist" values -- it is based on the presumption that temptations are worth giving in to, and that the fulfillment of desire is the way to happiness.

According to wikipedia he is a vegetarian and often promotes efforts to bring freedom to Burma, so it's possible.

A croissant does not intrinsically have HFCS. What's stopping it from being made with legitimate ingredients?
