This guy continues to impress me. When I first heard about him about 20 years ago he was the world chess champion, which he achieved at the age of 22, the youngest to do so. Now he's a political activist, hated by Putin (arrested occasionally), fighting for democracy in Russia, and recently announced that he's running for president of Russia. I hope he wins, but he probably has even less of a chance of winning than Ron Paul does here.

Already knew about this from The Colbert Report! You should watch it (and The Daily Show). Also, on the topic of politics, I heard Giuliani (?) say something profoundly stupid while talking to an evangelical crowd: "Freedom of religion does not mean freedom FROM religion." x( x( x( x( x(

He also said that freedom means authority, that freedom comes only from the ability to listen to authority.

I would watch them if my TV worked, but I'd have to pay for another cable box etc.

Maybe you should considering buying a computer TV tuner! I bought one for 40 dollars when living in Florida and since then it has survived everything, including Hurricane Katrina. It's a little rusty now, but it works fine and has not given me a problem since owning it. Besides watching television (when I had it), I also use it for playing consoles through my computer. You can put the signal into a desktop window or maximize it, record video, etc etc.

However, it's important to note that I use a tuner that doesn't have a integrated processor; it relies on my computing power to decode incoming signals, which is actually a good thing since it means latency is minimized/nonexistent, making it a realistic solution for bypassing a need for a television unit to watch stuff and play video games.

This is the one that I own:

It's awesome.

You misread. The problem isn't that I don't have a working TV. The problem is that I have no cable to connect to that TV without a cable box.

you don't need a cable box to watch cable... that is, if you have cable already. At least I didn't need one to watch mine, it was just there to allow an easier method of switching through all the channels and displaying information about them and such, etc etc
